Job Summary:

Be a leader in the company and the community to ensure employees’ safety, protect the environment, help customers work safely with company products, ensure company complies with OSHA, EPA/PADEP and DOT regulations, and contribute to the development of corporate and community policy

Job Description:

  • Observe, train, and communicate with employees to ensure that they work safely.
  • Ensure that operations are conducted in compliance with OSHA regulations including (but not limited to):
    • Hazard Communication Standard,
    • Laboratory Standard,
    • Personal Protective Equipment, including Respiratory Protection Standard,
    • Control of Hazardous Energy (Lockout/Tag out),
    • Powered Industrial Trucks,
    • Emergency Procedures, and
    • Electrical Safety.
  • Author Globally Harmonized System (GHS) SDSs and product labels.
  • Coordinate/perform industrial hygiene monitoring.
  • Ensure compliance with EPA and PADEP regulations including those addressing hazardous waste, aboveground storage tanks, air emissions, and Community Right-to-Know.
  • Ensure effective operation of company safety committee.
  • Respond to EHS-related questions from customers.
  • Coordinate with REACH OR to ensure REACH compliance for EU distributors.
  • Ensure that hazardous materials are shipped in compliance with DOT, UPS, IATA and IMDG requirements, and that shipping department personnel are trained and understand packaging, marking, labeling and shipping paper requirements for HazMats.
  • Ergonomics assessments, recommendations and program management.

Qualifications:

  • College degree in a technical field with a bias for chemistry, toxicology, Industrial Hygiene or EHS-related field.
  • 5+ years EHS experience in a chemical manufacturing facility.
  • Thorough understanding of OSHA, EPA and DOT regulations with strong knowledge of GHS.
  • Excellent communication and leadership skills.
  • Drug-free (including nicotine).

Environmental and Wetland Review Analyst

Job Duties:   

Environmental and Wetland Review Specialist – responsible for coordinating with the Department of Environmental Conservation (DEC) and design firms for Wetland permit Submittals.  Review Request for Authorization packages from design firms before submitting to DEC.  Coordinate Jurisdiction requests from design firms with DEC. Other responsibilities include: analyzing and evaluating the environmental impacts and recommend alternate courses of action, options, or techniques which would improve or mitigate environmental impacts to contractors. 

Qualifications

  • Ability to read and interpret Wetland Environmental laws
  • Knowledge of NEPA and CERCA Regulations
  • Able to read, understand and convey details related construction drawings, GIS maps and exhibits.
  • Basic knowledge of architecture and erosion control
  • Knowledge of Microsoft office.  (Excel, Word, Visio, etc).
  • Good oral and written communication skills
  • Strong problem solving techniques
  • Ability to coordinate and liaise between multiple agencies and contractors.

Wetland Coordinator/Inspector

Job Duties:

Wetland Coordinator/Inspector- Responsible for performing daily Wetland Inspections at construction sites throughout the 5 boroughs and complete daily report of inspection.  Assist in coordinating with the Department of Environmental Conservation (DEC) and design firms for Wetland Permit Submittals.  Review Request from Authorization packages and make sure construction contractors are following approved drawings.   Shadow Wetland delineations alongside contractor.

Qualifications
